His family was devastated to see him alone in the airport for three nights, but he was eventually cared for by Emirates Airlines staff. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has been approached for comment. This situation has highlighted the uncertainty faced by British citizens in the Gulf, with many stranded passengers, including holidaymakers and transit passengers, awaiting news of their departure. The Foreign Secretary has advised stranded Britons to register their presence in the Middle East with the UK government, and a total of 102,000 have done so far. However, some have received little information from the government, leaving them worried and uncertain about their future plans. The conflict has also caused flight cancellations and diversions, affecting many travelers, including Johnny Whittaker from Bristol, who was stranded in Dubai due to restrictions. The FCDO has advised travelers to check their website for travel advice, but many are left feeling vulnerable and in need of more support from the government.
